This is most likely one of the first Yamaha
production racers that came to Europe. According to Colin MacKellars book about
Yamaha racebikes 120 were built in 1963 and less then ten came to Europe. Some
history is known and the first or one of the first owner was New Zealander
Morrie Low. Well known continental rider Bo Granath has told me that swedish
125 champion Jan Brening swapped his Honda CR93 with Morrie and got this Yamaha
instead when they were racing in England, he also told me he thought it was a
bad deal. Morrie Low died in late 1964. Brening raced it one or two years after
that. No further history is known before I found it in Stockholm 10 years ago.
